Salt Water Flush

This gentle cleanse is popular to facilitate digestion and cleansing. Used often at the beginning or end of a detox or as an end to a parasite cleanse. Drinking the salty water encourages the body’s natural detoxification and elimination, helping lighten the bodies load improving digestion and making you feel more vital.

This flush is most effective first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. You can do it later in the day at least 2 to 3 hours after food, but the results may differ. First thing in the morning your body wants to detoxify and eliminate, so no food produces the best results.

What you will need

  • Large glass jar
  • 2 teaspoons of Himalyan Salt, or other coloured salt
  • Warm water, slightly warmer than room temp
  • Lemon, this will take the salt taste away

How to do the Salt Flush

In a large glass jar put the warm water, salt a lemon juice in. Put the lid on and shake to dissolve the salt. Drink all of the liquid as quickly as you can. For best results then lay on your side a massage your belly, then change sides. Have another glass or two of just water if you like. If you tend towards constipation this is recommended to get things moving.

What will happen?

Within a short time you will start to feel your belly grumble. You will feel the urge to go to the bathroom, hold until you can hold no more. You may no one more or many more times. If you continue to go to the bathroom make sure you keep your fluids up.

How to finish the cleanse

Once completed, eat a light meal and get on your day as usual. Drinking a cup of bone broth will help to settle and heal the gut. A dose of probiotics will also help establish healthy bacteria.
