Advanced thermography available

What is thermography and why utilise it?

Thermal Imaging is used by many people for a great number of reasons.  The diagnostic tool is used to monitor confirmed disease, for others with unexplained health concerns searching for answers, and others still who are perfectly healthy and just want to make sure they stay that way.

Gayndah naturopath, Jessica Ehrlich, uses thermography technology to assist clients by providing preventative education and action to improve upon their health and well-being.

The experienced clinician says thermography, or Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI), is a totally non-invasive, pain-free clinical imaging procedure without the use of radiation.

“The technology is used for detecting and monitoring a number of diseases and physical injuries by showing the thermal abnormalities present in the body. Very popular for monitoring breast health”, Jessica says.

An infrared scanning device is used to convert infrared radiation emitted from the skin surface into electrical impulses that are visualised in colour on a monitor.

This visual image graphically maps the body temperature and is referred to as a thermogram.

Once these images have been sent away for professional analysis, a report is generated and delivered back to the client within five working days.

In her work as a naturopath, Jessica recognised the benefits of this tool and completed her training with U.S. based company, Meditherm.

For the past six years her Advanced Thermography service has been in demand and seen her travel extensively and regularly from Bundaberg, to Toowoomba, Nambour, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.

Advanced Thermography is also available in Gayndah by appointment.

“Thermal changes are often the earliest sign of vascular disease, immune dysfunction, diabetes and thyroid dysfunction. It is also the earliest indication of systemic inflammation, a precursor to many diseases”, Jessica explains.

“In my practice I have seen the benefits of thermal imaging testing, including a reduction in inflammatory conditions like arthritis and diverticular disease as well as a reduction in the incidence of breast disease through early detection of risk factors like oestrogen dominance, lymphatic congestion and inflammation”, she says.

“One of the best parts of my job is being able to educate and self-empower my clients about their own bodies and helping them to be the best versions of themselves”, Jessica says.
